KEJADIAN DAN DAMPAK EKONOMI FASCIOLOSIS PADA SAPI YANG DISEMBELIH SEBAGAI HEWAN KURBAN DI KECAMATAN NGAGLIK, KABUPATEN SLEMAN

Abstract

Sapi merupakan ternak yang banyak digunakan sebagai hewan kurban untuk perayaan Hari Raya Idul Adha. Fasciolosis merupakan penyakit pada sapi yang disebabkan oleh cacing hati Fasciola gigantica di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kejadian fasciolosis dan kerugian ekonomi yang ditimbulkan pada sapi yang disembelih akibat hati yang diafkir pada perayaan Idul Adha. Penelitian dilakukan selama perayaan Idul Adha pada 11-14 Agustus 2019 di 209 lokasi yang tersebar di enam kelurahan/desa di Kecamatan Ngaglik, Kabupaten Sleman. Diagnosis fasciolosis didasarkan pada temuan parasit di hati sapi saat pemeriksaan postmortem. Sebanyak 862 ekor sapi disembelih di Kecamatan Ngaglik dan ditemukan 12,30% atau 106 ekor sapi yang mengalami fasciolosis dengan persentase terbanyak berturut-turut adalah Kelurahan Sariharjo (20,58%), Donoharjo (13,25%), Minomartani (12,50%), Sinduharjo (9,83%), Sardonoharjo (6,21%), dan Sukoharjo (5,26%). Kerugian ekonomi karena kerusakan hati yang disebabkan oleh fasciolosis diestimasi sebesar Rp. 8.480.000,00 di Kecamatan Ngaglik, Sleman. Tindakan pencegahan dan penanganan fasciolosis sangat diperlukan untuk mengurangi dan memberantas kejadian penyakit pada ternak ruminansia, terutama sapi potong.
